Winner Takes All, a Conversation with Christopher Lydon

May 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Monday, May 20th, 2019 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The Boston Foundation, 75 Arlington Street, 3rd Floor
Join us for a thought provoking conversation moderated by Chris Lydon, WBUR Radio Host of Open Source about WINNER TAKES ALL, a book by Anand Giridharadas.
This book has been creating controversy in philanthropic circles globally, and is a must read (whether in agreement or disagreement) for international and domestic donors alike. Google Books describes it as “an insiders groundbreaking investigation of how the global elite’s efforts to “change the world” preserve the status quo and obscure their role in causing the problems they later seek to solve.” Other important questions are also explored, such as: What ultimately motivates philanthropists to be generous donors and what responsibility to they have to the efforts they support?
This is part of NEID’s new Heart of Philanthropy Series, a series of conversations designed to help funders explore the passions and values that drive their philanthropy. This series will be curated by NEID members Tom Haslett and Anne Stetson.
