A conversation with Katie Bunten-Wamaru of the Segal Family Foundation and Ben Ayers of dZi Foundation discussing approaches to systems of evaluation that are both community led and grantee focused. Ben Ayers will be touch on the importance of structuring monitoring and evaluation tools in a manner that engages community members first and foremost, and achieving the double benefit of community reflection and learning while improving impact and communicating to donors. Katie Bunten Wren will elaborate on how funders can use a learning mindset to guide their giving and supplement their analysis of grantees. SFF’s Active Partnership model, promotes working closely with grantees to design customized capacity-building opportunities to increase their M&E capacity and focus on how to use data for learning, rather than solely for reporting to funders. The event will provide ample opportunities for the attendees to dive deeper into understanding how their M&E practices relate to the larger goal of creating effective and sustainable systems of evaluation.
