Filling the Gaps: Human Rights Funders and the Global Gag Rule
May 3, 2017, 11:00 am EDT
Co-Sponsored with PAWHR and Funders Network on Population, Reproductive Health and Rights
In light of the human rights challenges posed by global trends of closing civic space and rising authoritarianism, and exacerbated by the Trump Administration in the United States, IHRFG will be hosting a series of monthly webinars examining funder responses leading up to our New York 2017 Conference.
The first webinar in this series will examine the Global Gag Rule, which prevents U.S. government funding to NGOs that provide abortion counseling, referrals, or advocacy—and restricts access to contraception. This rule will result in a gap of over $600 million in reproductive, maternal, infant, and child health funding globally. How are governments, private funders, and grantees working to fill the funding gaps?
Speakers to be confirmed.
Register here.
